Our project

The Bierger*Haus is a community centre open to everyone living, working or engaged in the municipality of Steinfort.

Born out of a citizen initiative in collaboration with the municipality of Steinfort, the centre was created to provide a space for meeting, discussion and participation in local life.

Anyone can suggest ideas, organise activities or simply come and meet other people in a welcoming and inclusive setting.

Core values

The Bierger*Haus is based on three core values:

  • Equality and living together
  • Inclusion
  • Citizen participation

The aim is simple: to enable residents to take an active role in their community.

A place to meet and create

The Bierger*Haus is a space open to everyone in Steinfort, as well as to those who work in the town or are actively involved in a local organisation.

It is a place for:

  • informal get-togethers
  • exchanging ideas
  • experimentation and collective creation

Everyone is encouraged to share their skills, experiences and ideas in order to develop projects that benefit the community.

By making the space their own, participants help to strengthen social ties and a sense of belonging to the municipality.

The location

Bierger*Haus Building

The Bierger*Haus is located in the former 'Al Schoul' school, a building steeped in history and a hub of community life.

Once a place of learning, it continues today to bring together people from all walks of life around the values of sharing, cooperation and community living.

The spaces are designed to host a variety of civic, cultural and participatory activities.

Book the Bierger*Haus

Local associations, community groups and municipal services can propose activities or organise events open to the public.

The spaces can be booked for initiatives that align with the values of the Bierger*Haus.

Booking requests should be made to the municipality's PR and Events Department here, in consultation with the Bierger*Haus asbl.
